Weekend Watch (May 23rd-25th)

From time travel with superheros, to a romantic, family comedy - this Weekend's Watch is sure to offer something for everyone!

Up first: X-Men: Days of Future Past

Synopsis: The X-Men send Wolverine to the past in a desperate effort to change history.

Possibly one of the most anticipated movies of this year, "X-Men: Days of Future Past" certainly looks like a solid box office smash. The cast from "First Class" is back, James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Nicholas Hoult, and Jennifer Lawrence; along with most of the original trilogy members like: Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, and of course Hugh Jackman. With such a huge roster, can "Days of Future Past" honestly deliver a well-rounded performance? I suppose in order to truly know the answer to that question is to see the movie. And let's be honest; it's Marvel, it's X-Men, and it's summer - my guess is that everyone and their brother will be seeing this movie.

Verdict: My recommendation, try to go into this with an open mind. If you're like me, you're probably worried about the enormous cast on top of the ever confusing aspect of time travel, but let's go into the theater, popcorn bucket in hand, and hope to watch an amazing blockbuster.

Next up: Blended

Synopsis: After a bad blind date, a man and woman find themselves stuck together at a family resort.

Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore are back together, but this time they're dragging their kids along for the ride. "Blended" also stars: Joel McHale, Wendi McLendon-Covey, Kevin Nealon, and Jessica Lowe. From the trailer, it looks like a good comedy, with Sandler and Barrymore's repertoire back in action. I feel like this movie will appeal to those that are single parents, trying to make it work at home and in their love lives, but also to those who haven't given up on Adam Sandler.

Verdict: For a romantic night out, this is probably the one to see - unless of course your date is into comic book movies...
