Good morning everyone! Dusty here with some big news! You may or may not know that Fox has been working pretty hard to reboot its Fantastic Four franchise. For months, speculation has flown all around the web concerning who would be cast in the four lead roles. Well we have our answer!
Hollywood favorite from films like Chronicle and Fruitvale Station, Michael B. Jordan will come on board as Johnny Storm aka The Human Torch.
Made famous by the Netflix series House of Cards, Kate Mara will take on the role of Sue Storm, the Invisible Woman and Johnny's sister. Yes, we know she's white and he's black but come on, people! Think outside the box!
From the film Jumper and the upcoming AMC Revolutionary war spy drama Turn, Jamie Bell will take on the role of Ben Grimm aka The Thing. This role is said to be motion capture, along the lines of Gollum in Lord of the Rings, rather than the man-in-suit method used for the last Fantastic Four films.
Finally, another fast rising name in Hollywood from movies like That Awkward Moment and The Spectacular Now, Miles Teller will be taking on the role of Reed Richards aka Mister Fantastic, the groups leader and traditionally Sue Storm's love interest.
So, what do you think about the casting choices? There has already been widespread outrage among the citizens of the internet, mostly about skin color and other such meaningless things.
Personally, I love this casting. All of these actors are in excellent positions in their career and are very much in demand, and for good reason!
The Fantastic Four reboot is currently slated for a June 19, 2015 release.
