First Impressions: Super Bowl Promo Special!

Hello everyone! Dusty here. If you're like me, you sat through a pretty boring football game on Sunday for a chance to see a few promos for upcoming blockbusters. It's become a bit of a tradition these days. So today, we are giving you the rundown of all the promos as well as my brief opinion of the TV spots. So here we go!

Transformers: Age of Extinction

First impressions: it's big, it's loud and has lots of explosions. In other words, it's Michael Bay; and yes the Dinobots are cool, but these movies never really had a problem with visuals or action. If you go back and watch the trailers for Transformers 2, it looks really fun. How did that turn out? Sorry, Michael Bay, you've burned me too many times.

Captain America: Winter Soldier

Of all the Marvel films coming up, I'm most excited for Captain America: Winter Soldier. This new trailer only boosted my hopes. Marvel can do no wrong right now. It's reasonable to assume their usually quality of story will be found in this installment and the trailer definitely gives us a glimpse at the action and set pieces we're in for.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2

Sure, the Amazing Spider-Man was nothing groundbreaking. In fact, most fans didn't like it because it was a reboot that didn't really do anything we hadn't seen done with the webhead before. Until Sunday, nothing I had seen from the sequel really got me expecting it would do any better. This promo ramped up the action and the focus on the villains really intrigues me. I think I'm on board for this one now.

Need for Speed

That's right, it's a film adaptation of the popular (yeah, maybe 10 years ago) video game franchise. If you watch the full trailer not aired during the game, you may have an idea that the movie is about a guy trying to get revenge on the evil that sent him to prison. But if all you saw was this promo, I bet that was news to you. After the Fast and Furious franchise, cars driving fast is nothing to catch an audiences eye. It would have been nice to see something else...unless that's all the movie has to offer.

What was your favorite movie promo during the game? Let us know in comments!
