Friday Movie News Recap - DC Movie Universe, Tomb Raider Reboot and New Trailers!

Happy Man of Steel Day folks! Oh... I mean, happy Friday. Still reeling from my midnight screening of the new Superman movie but I must do my duty. I have to turn my attention to the movie news stories of the week. So here we go!

DC Movie Rumors

According, as always, to unnamed sources, Warner Bros./DC has decided to heed the advice of Man of Steel director Zack Snyder and bring us a Superman sequel before jumping into a Justice League movie. Reportedly the Man of Steel sequel is planned for a 2015 release, with a JL movie coming shortly after. Also, apparently Ryan Reynolds is no longer being brought back as Green Lantern and they will be starting over with the character in a Justice League film. Of course, time will tell how much of this is actual truth or just whispers of possibilities.

Tomb Raider Reboot Being Written by Buffy Show-runner

According to Variety, Marti Noxon, the Darth Vader to Joss Whedon's Emperor Palpatine during production of the Buffy the Vampire Slayer tv show, will be writing the screenplay for a reboot of the Tomb Raider franchise. The new film will be based upon the video that was released months ago, itself a reboot of the video game series; the game was met with high praise from players and critics alike. With this announcement and Ubisoft working on an Assassin's Creed movie starring Michael Fassbender, we may be in store for some, dare I say it, GOOD video game adaptations!
