David Goyer on the DC Movie Universe: 'It's just been vague conversations so far.'

Since Marvel began their mega crossover franchise with the first Iron Man, Fans have been putting a lot of pressure on Warner Brothers, stewards of rival DC comics properties, to produce similar results with their films. With the end of the Nolan Batman films and the release of Man of Steel, it seemed like WB was ready to get serious about the gold mine of superhero movies they've been sitting on.

Here we are a year after Man of Steel's release, awaiting a Batman/Superman crossover film coming in 2016, and writer David Goyer offers the folks at IGN an update on the cohesive universe they are building:

"I mean, it's too early. I know that Warner Bros. would love to make their universe more cohesive. There have been a lot of general conversations about that, but it's really, really early. I'm not sure. Marvel has had enormous success, but I'm not sure that everybody should try to emulate them either. It's just been vague conversations so far."

Really David? What you seem to be telling us is that there is no plan past Man of Steel 2 because it's too early. How long until we actually have a WB ready and eager to make these movies we all want to pay them to see?

Forget about emulating Marvel; just make movies fans want to see: The Flash, Wonder Woman, a better Green Lantern. Stop being so damn cautious.
