Batman Solo Movie: 5 Villains That Should Be Considered

With DC's movie universe getting into gear with Man of Steel's release and the upcoming Batman vs. Superman film, and with the new Caped Crusader, Ben Afleck, being cast, we are once again looking forward to the inevitable Batman solo film. Batman's greatest attribute is arguably his enemies. These are the five villains we think should be considered for the next Batman movie in order of least to most likely.

5. The Riddler

In the realistic world created by Man of Steel, the first in DC's unified universe, the Riddler seems an odd choice. Images of Him Carrey in green tights rush through one's mind. But think of him as a brilliant, creepy serial killer, leaving clues behind in the form of riddles. Maybe he can finally let Batman earn that "World's Greatest Detective" title on the big screen.

4. Victor Zsasz

Once an upstanding, successful businessman, Victor Zsasz became an indiscriminate serial killer. Zsasz would provide another foe who can test Batman's detective skills but maybe without the Riddler baggage.

3. Hush

A childhood friend of Bruce Wayne's, Thomas Elliot (aka Hush), is a twisted mirror image of what Bruce could have become. Having a character like Hush with a tie to Wayne's past would serve a reboot well; giving us an organic way to see how Bruce became Batman while also showing us Elliot's tragic story.

2. Black Mask

Another childhood association of Wayne's Roman Sionis (aka Black Mask) provides a similar foil, but also brings the organized crime element back into the picture. This has worked well for Bats in previous films.

1. Hugo Strange

Strange is a brilliant psychiatrist, among many other talents. Hired by the GCPD as a consultant to help bring Batman in, Strange seems the most likely choice in a realistic world where Batman is still brand new on the scene. He also has the hallmark of a true Batman villain: he's insane!

So there they are! Who else do you think could possibly make the cut for the next Batman movie? Sound off in the comments!
