It's been a good week for movie news/rumors. I've picked out a few of my favorites that you should know about.
Henry Cavill Would Be Interested in a Superman-Batman Team Up Movie
In an interview that made geeks like myself get more than a little excited, Henry Cavill (Superman in next month's Man of Steel film) expressed his interest in seeing his Superman share the screen with the Dark Knight in a team of film of their own. Here is his quote he gave to SFX:
"I think it would be really interesting with the age-old Batman / Superman conflict
because they are two different sides of the same coin and their methods are
entirely different. And I think it would actually make for an interesting
story as to why, first of all, they were going head to head and how. I think that
would make a great story. Who knows, I’m sure there’s all sorts of ideas being
thrown around at Warner Bros. right now."
I think I speak for all of DC fandom when I say, "Yes, please!"
Poltergeist Remake May Actually Be a Sequel Instead
MGM has been working on a remake of the classic horror film Poltergeist. As usual, fans were up in arms about another classic being "ruined" by a remake. But this week, news has surfaced that may help them swallow it a little easier. Apparently the new Poltergeist will take place within the same universe as the original (akin to what happened this year with Evil Dead) and will be more of a sequel. Reportedly, these new characters will find some possessions of the original characters that were left behind...on purpose. Personally I never connected well with the original, but I'm willing to give this one a chance especially because Sam Raimi is producing.
It's Raining Trailers
Several new trailers dropped this week and they all look pretty interesting in their own ways. Check them out below:
We're the Millers - Aug. 9, 2013
The World's End - Aug. 23, 2013
Man of Steel - June 14, 2013
I know that was a lot to digest but some weeks are just faster than others! Did I miss anything? Comment below!
